Rev. Dr. Jack M. Loo

Click here for video of service

Sermon Focus: The Apostle Paul preached the gospel of grace. But some Galatian church people said that grace was not enough, that a relationship with God also required the keeping of certain traditional religious practices. So, which was true? Paul begins his letter to the Galatians by helping them understand the true gospel.

Psalm 66:1-5 and Galatians 2:15-21

"Breathing Life Into Religion"

Rev. Dr. Jack M. Loo

Sermon Focus: Christianity began in the middle of a Jewish religious culture. There was natural tension between those who believed in justification by the works of the law, and those who believed they were justified by faith in Christ. The Apostle Paul taught that people did not find spiritual life through religious ritual but by the indwelling Spirit of Christ.

"Get Out of Jail Free"

Rev. Dr. Jack M. Loo

Sermon Focus: According to the teachings of the Apostle Paul we are spiritually incarcerated by our sinfulness. So how do we get our soul out of that jail? Scripture tells us we become free by putting our faith in Jesus Christ and accepting his sacrifice on our behalf, a sacrifice that sets us free.

Psalm 145:13-21 and Galatians 3:19-25

"Life's Referee"

Rev. Dr. Jack M. Loo

Sermon Focus: Jewish Christians said that their faith should include adherence to Jewish laws. They looked to the law to act as a kind of referee for their lives. Gentile Christians believed those laws should make way for the grace of Jesus Christ, who is the only one capable of managing the impossible standards of the law.

Psalm 100:1-5 and Galatians 3:26-29

"Created Equal"

Rev. Dr. Jack M. Loo

Sermon Focus: Through faith in Jesus Christ wee become members of the family of God. And as children of God we are all equal – equally loved, equally valued, equal heirs of His kingdom. We are all different but equally important to God and His mission in the world.
